Internships
Are you interested in becoming an Intern with the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center?
An internship is an excellent opportunity to bridge the learning gap and transition from academic life into a public health career. It’s important to think about the type of experience you desire as you begin your search for the right internship opportunity. Please note: These experiential opportunities are unpaid, unless there was a specific posting stating otherwise. Available opportunities are limited.
The LCHD has other learning experiences, including:
Externship
Lake County Health Department offers externship opportunities. We’ve partnered with local community colleges and universities so medical assistants can gain experience while completing their required clinical hours. This provides a unique opportunity for an extern to ask questions, gain knowledge, observe how our staff interacts with clients, and learn some of the day-to-day tasks and responsibilities.
Job Shadowing
Lake County Health Department offers job shadowing for those wanting/needing to observe a professional on the job. You will shadow a mentor as they go about their workday and learn about their role and responsibilities. If you are a student unsure of a career path or someone looking to change careers, this experience may help provide a clearer path to your decision-making.
Temporary
Volunteering
Are you looking to make a real impact through serving others? Lake County Health Department offers volunteer opportunities that allow you to put your time, talent, and compassion to work within one of our many different programs.
